Yep, I'm Still Here

Bet you thought I forgot about you, huh?

Well, ironically enough ... the very day I made my last entry, I was informed my department was being dissolved and they were giving us a 30-day notice of position elimination. Yep, I've been downsized ... and I'm out of a job after 8-1/2 years at this place. Now, let me make it clear - this is NOT bad news. Ever since I went back after maternity leave last March, I have HATED every single thing about my job, my employer, and my management. Luckily, I also saw this coming last summer, so Strutt and I have spent the last six months getting financially ready for it. We are in a good place and I don't have to worry for at least a year, which is plenty of time to find something - and I already have a couple of opportunities, so no worries here. My last day in Hell is April 10 and you can be sure I'll be turning cartwheels on my way out the door.

Which means ... drum roll, please ... I don't have to get up at 4:30 any more to work out. Thank the gods!!! And I can double up my workout sessions. I'm toying with the idea of doing (2) 1-hour sessions for a month or so to see if it helps my results - one in the morning and one in the evening. Today was weigh and measure day (remember, it's the 1st of the month) and I'm down 42 lbs. and 25", which has me extremely happy. But since we're going to North Carolina at the end of April to see Strutt's family, I'd like to try a little extra push to lose a bit more before we get there - not that a 42-lb. loss isn't going to be apparent, but I'm greedy ... LOL.

I'm still getting my ducks in a row, but hope to start posting more regularly, especially after I'm done with Hell. I wonder if it would be too evil to call my old boss (who is majorly pissed about this decision by upper management, as are 90% of the folks there) about a week after I leave to say, "Hey, good morning, dude ... I'm sitting on my back deck, drinking coffee and enjoying the sunshine ... what are you doing?" Too awful :)
